So this week we were called out to do some ceramic tile and grout cleaning in Kirby Muxloe Leicestershire. Our client approached us to come give her a quote due to her ceramic grout lines looking really filthy from all the years of food being dropped and having muddy dogs running through the house all the time. The original colour of the grout was grey but they were black by the time we were called into the property and our client was in desperate need of our help to bring them back to life again with a thorough clean, Fortunately for her she picked the right company to bring her ceramic floor back to new again!

We began by pre sprayed a high alkaline product onto the grout lines and left this to do its magic for about 15 minutes, normally we would apply the high alkaline spray on the tile too but in this case it’s ceramic so it has a constant glaze of protection as this is a man made tile and the way that the tile has been manufactured allows it to have a constant repel against any dirt or spillages. So after a while had passed, we scrubbed the grout lines by hand using a special grout brush designed for cleaning grout. We used our rotary machine with a long bristle scrubbing brush to go over the tiles and grout for an extra clean, making sure we go the extra mile and get the best we possibly can on the floor! After we was happy with the efficient scrub we had done on the ceramic floor we then rinsed the floor using a high pressure extraction wet pick up machine which shoots water at 1400 psi and vacuums the soiled excess water at the same time. The thorough rinsing we were doing on the floor also removes any dirt that the grout brush couldn’t get too using the high pressure to blast the pores. We then left the ceramic floor to dry for a couple of days.

A couple days later we returned and tested the floor with our damp tester to make sure the grout lines were dry and ready to apply the sealant. Then we started to get the sealant ready and as most floors we use an impregnated sealer that covers the tiny pore holes in the grout, as mentioned above the tile itself does NOT need sealing due to its glazing that’s put on when manufactured so the tile has a constant sealant on it making this tile the easiest stone floor to maintain on the market. We then poured the sealant solution into hand sized bottles we use that’s designed specially for sealing grout lines with special pointed narrow nozzles on the end of them! We flood the grout lines with sealant to make sure the grout has been sealed properly and efficiently, this is equivalent to about two or three coats.
