Cleaning Time recently had a call back request to phone a client in Quorn to go see her once beautiful Slate floor, the floor become completely lacking it’s original colour also life in this floor, in need of our professional assistance, especially in that well-walked on kitchen, they were now truly overdue for a deep thorough clean & re-seal, so we were asked to come strip back the floor and re-seal so they could have their original beautiful floor back.
Given the poor condition and length of time since this floor was last cleaned by an expert, it appeared lots of ranges of floor cleaning products had been applied to the floor, so we decided the best course of action, would be to strip the floor back to its original beautiful condition first. Meaning we will clean the floor and strip whatever residues that are left on it.
With this aim we applied a dilution ratio of 1:10 of our professional floor cleaning stripping product, which is a sealer and residue remover which lives up to its name (Mr muscle max 3), it was left to do its work in the tiles for a good twenty minutes before being scrubbed using our top of the range rotary machine fitted with what we call a Monster scrubbing brush designed for this kind of floor.
After the floor was scrubbed thoroughly, we had to rinse off the soiled solution with our state of the art electric pump system. Which shoots water out at 1400 psi at the same time picking the water up with our wet vacuum extraction system; All the stubborn/hard areas were then re-treated in the same way, once we was happy with the general condition of the floor, it was then given another thorough rinse to remove any excess of cleaning product and then left to dry for 48 hours.
We then returned 48 hours after to make sure the slate floor in Quorn was dry to be able to seal the floor normally it is (some floors normally take longer). We proceeded to seal the Slate floor with a couple of saturations our sealing product, the sealing product we used for this particular floor is an impregnating sealer that penetrates deep into the stone, provides a very good surface protection, the customer was also after a matt finish which the sealer product, we use is designed for matt finishes on Slate floors.
