Your Local Terrazzo Cleaning And Polishing Experts In Stoneygate Leicestershire, received a call about a discovered Terrazzo floor that our client found underneath their carpet whilst renovating their house. They wanted us to restore the terrazzo floor and bring it back to life again because as you can see below it was full of glues and building dust from all the work that had been going on! Luckily she called in the right terrazzo stone floor experts to get the job done right and to bring this floor back to almost brand new again!
Please see our before and after pictures and videos!

We started off by removing the grippers around the edges with a scraper, after they were all removed we need to deal with all the harsh excess glues that’s were on the Terrazzo hard floor so we applied an adhesive glue stripper all over the floor to remove the glue. After we left the stripper on there for a while we scrubbed all the glue of and did a thorough rinse to make sure there was no stripper left on the floor. Then we applied a high alkaline to do a quick clean before we polished it up! We left the alkaline solution to soak in for a while then scrubbed the floor using a flat abrasive pad to remove all the dirt that was left over, we then rinsed thoroughly again ready for the floor to be grinded. Now after all of that it was time to grind the floor and polish it up, the way we do this is by using a 5 diamond pad system starting with 200 grit which is a hone and the 5th pad going up to 8000 grit which is a high polished shine. After we had finished polishing the beautiful floor we then dried it completely and left it for a couple of days to dry out properly.

A couple of days later we returned to the property and tested the floor to see if it was fully dry which it was! We then begin to apply the impregnated sealant normally for a polished floor you only need one coat due to the porosity of the floor being closed up from a high grit, but in this case we put two coats so the floor is like bullet proof not allowing anything to break through it. As you can see from the after photo above we made a huge difference and definitely brought the floor back to like almost new again!
