Cleaning Time recently had a request call back to phone a client to go see her once beautiful Sandstone floor, the floor become completely lacking it’s colour also life in this once wonderful looking floor, in need of thorough professional assistance, especially in that well-walked on kitchen triangle between the sink, cooker and fridge, they were now truly overdue for a deep clean & re-seal, so we were asked to come strip back the floor and re-seal it to it’s true inner success.
Given the poor condition and length of time since this floor last time was cleaned & restored by a expert, it appeared lots of ranges of stone floor cleaning products had been applied to the floor, so I decided the best course of action, would be to strip the floor back to its original beautiful condition first.
With this aim I applied a dilution of our amazing floor cleaning stripping product which is a sealer and coatings remover which lives up well to its name (Mr muscle max 3), it was left to soak into the tiles for a good thirty minutes before being worked using a rotary machine fitted with a black scrubbing brush suited for this kind of work.
The soiled solution was rinsed off with clean water which was removed with a wet vacuum; stubborn/hard areas were then re-treated in the same way, once I was happy with the general condition of the floor, it was given a thorough rinse with water to remove any traces of cleaning product and then left to dry overnight.
We returned three days after to make sure was dry to be able to dry the floor if possible normally it is, we went to apply the sealer which it was so we proceeded to seal the Sandstone with a couple of coats our sealing product, sealing product is an impregnating sealer that penetrates deep into the stone, enhances the natural colour in the stone and provides good surface protection, the customer was also after a matt finish which is sealer product, we use this type of sealer for matt finishes due to it been made for matt finishes on stone floors.
