Before sealing the now beautiful looking Edwardian/Victorian floor, we needed to strip off any old sealants that are were left on the floor and give it a really good deep efficient clean. The way that we do this is by diluting a very high ph alkaline designed to deal with stripping sealants, then left it to do its magic for about twenty minutes before efficiently scrubbing it in with a rotary buffing machine fitted with a special harsh cleaning brush. After completing scrubbing we then had to wash it down with water, then picked up using our state of the art wet pick up system, stubborn areas such as paint and grout were then re-treated with wire brushes. We then moved onto the last part of the cleaning process which was the final thorough rinse with more water to wash away any trace of excess alkaline solution and then this was rinsed again, We then left the Victorian/Edwardian stone floor to dry for a few days so the sealant solution could bond nicely.

When we returned a few days later to test the floor for any moisture excess but, luckily the floor was completely dry so we could start sealing. We began applying two saturations of an impregnated sealant, this will sink into the stone and protect the floor from any dirt or spillages being ingrained into the Edwardian tile floor. This sealant will also enhance the natural colours of the tile making it look more beautiful, after that was complete we put another three coats of a coating sealant which gives the floor the sheen that the client wanted. Which looks very beautiful but we always warn the client it scratches very easily, nevertheless we made a huge difference and made the client very content and happy with our Victorian/Edwardian tile cleaning and sealing services.
